Lacewing began to fund scholarships for girls

from Middle school through University in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in 2008. This school year we have had 29 girls receiving help through Lacewing grants. The girls receive stipends (called becas) to help with their living expenses while in school. They must attain an 80% GPA to stay in the program. Some of the university graduates

receive  funds to obtain their titulos(licenses)

after their fifth year of study.

Research shows educating girls  results in improvement in health and well being of villages throughout the developing world.

This program has made a real difference in these girls lives and that of their families. Mujeres en Cambio means Women Changing. Lacewing hopes  to continue to help effect change in these girls’ lives, supporting them into the future.
